  • 1:45 pm - 3:15 pm: Tom Renaud

Tom Renaud fell in love with the guitar early in his life, and began playing steadily at age 16. By now he’s racked up over 40 years on his chosen instrument, and has been writing songs for almost as long.

Tom started out as a teacher, but his life took a unique turn. He became a monk for 25 years, living in monastery/retreat centers in Arizona, Colorado, Nova Scotia, and Ireland. He was privileged to live in beautiful wilderness areas, developing a great love for nature’s beauty. He also worked with his hands extensively, learning construction, carpentry and woodcarving. And all the while he developed his guitar playing and wrote.

  • 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm: Katie Jo & The Mijos

Katie Jo & The Mijos play toe-tapping tunes fit for a roadhouse hoedown with lyrics as tender as the partner you’d dance with. The Mijos' live shows are a blend high-energy country, nimble bluegrass instrumentation and introspective songwriting that'll grab your ear, heart and dancing boots.

Raised in Kansas, trained on bluegrass banjo in the hills of West Virginia and decamped to Long Beach, CA, Katie Jo has combined her windswept country roots with the breezy notes of the Southern California Americana music scene. Backed by the mighty Mijos, all skilled musicians culled from across music genres in LA, she has created a sound that combines the best of hard-time honky tonk with a friendly, good-time vibe.
